Social hierarchy – caste and class. The main groups delineated in the chapter are Elites, Indians, Castas, and Blacks, as well as Women.

Here are two choices, only choose one of the following:

1. Choose any one group to describe what your life was like over time. You may role-play – become someone from this group – or take the more academic approach to describe life in this group.

2. Compare/contrast any two groups. Show what life was like, how one group might have interacted with another (their relationships).
