Research Proposal

ou are required to write and submit a completed research proposal in current APA style. The final version will incorporate feedback from all previous sub-assignments.  In addition, you are required to include a title page, an abstract, as well as a discussion of limitations and protential challenges and several appendices containing supplementary materials.

introduction comment Introduction provides a good overview of existing literature on topic (psychological impact of COVID-19) and sources are cited – Topic needs be narrowed. Based on the literature review, the general topic of your proposal (COVID’s impact on mental health) has been broadly covered. This proposal (and introduction) must point out a specific opportunity within this topic area for research (something that remains to be analyzed), and then propose a study to fulfill this opportunity. – Although review of literature is well-rounded, it needs to narrow on a more specific topic. Writing out a defined proposal of how your proposed research study would add to the field will help guide how your introduction takes form.
Methods Section comments: Measurement tool is not mentioned — need to include. What are the exclusion criteria? Any debriefing? How will your methods help answer your research question around the Covid-19 pandemic? What specifically will be measured?

Analytic Plan Section comment: More description and specificity is needed on how your study will measure anxiety and depression for those who have had COVID-19. Based on the scoring from this measure, you will have the data that will be analyzed within your proposal. This looks like a retrospective study (looking backward into the past) given the sample is people who have had COVID-19. You need to write about how you will be able to measure how these people have had a change in their anxiety and depression scores from before COVID-19, even though you only have had the opportunity to measure these scores after they have been diagnosed. After you clarify this, you will be able to speak to the statistical hypothesis testing you will do. The shell table needs to be a frame for how you will present data and not one for meeting general statistical assumptions.

These are the comments in the previous sections. You can choose to modify them according to the comments or rewrite the first two parts directly.
