Discussion – Physics, an experimental science (LHC)

LHC is the most powerful particle accelerator in the world and it’s located in CERN on the France-Swiss border.

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. They use the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments to study the basic constituents of matter the fundamental particles.

Go to the CERN website and watch the video about CERN and scroll down the page and click on “the birth of the WEB” link.

Answer the following questions:

    What is CERN?
    What is the LHC?
When and where the World Wide Web was created?
Mention three topics that you found in this website that related to this physics course.

If you want to know more about the LHC you can find in Neflix “Particle Fiber” a video with the history of this experiment.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
