I have held jobs as a Credit Analyst, Finance Analyst, and Collection Specialist.

Before I obtained the Credit Analyst position, I started in the company, in an entry level position. After 10 months, I promoted to a Credit Analyst. This path is a way to obtain jobs for some. Enter the company at an entry level. Prove your abilities and skills, and then promote to another position. Internal recruitment strategies are a prominent method that companies use to fill open job positions within the company. Internal applicants are a valuable resource that many companies, at times, overlook. But most large companies utilize the recruitment of internal candidates and this method has its benefits. The advantages of internal recruitment increases confidence of the promoted employee, develops the performance of the recruited employee, the employer is acquainted with the abilities of the internal employee, and the budget of inside staffing is considerably less than external recruitment (Youssef-Morgan & Stark, 2014). The disadvantages to internal recruitment is the limitation of presenting different ideas, skills and culture to the organization, creates potential jealousies among current workers, and frequently leads to a job opening that will need to be filled (Youssef-Morgan & Stark, 2014).

I was recruited as a Finance Analyst and Collection Specialist, by applying online, through the company’s website. I heard by word of mouth that the companies were hiring and both times, went to each company’s website, found a job that I was interested in, and applied. There are advantages to online recruitment and many companies are choosing that method as a major source for finding qualified employees. Reasons that this type of recruitment is chosen is because of efficiency, reaches a broader audience, and minimal cost (Friend, 2016). A major disadvantage of online recruitment is minimal human interaction, elevated volume of applications, technology challenges, and logistical issues (Joseph, 2016).
