In a well-constructed essay of 4-6 typed pages, double-spaced with one-inch margins, write on one of the following authors: William Blake, Walt Whitman, Robert Frost, or Emily Dickinson.

First, read two (2) scholarly articles (15-20 pages) on either Blake, Whitman, Frost, or Dickinson, and then write a summary of the articles. Next, using the information from the articles, discuss the poets major themes and symbols, and what makes the poet unique.  Part of your discussion must include references to the poems by that author which have been covered in class.
A BIBLIOGRAPHY AND/OR WORKS CITED USING MLA FORMAT MUST BE INCLUDED WITH YOUR PAPER

Remember, DO NOT REPEAT THE POEMS, but only use those portions of the poems which prove your points. Be sure to follow MLA rules for direct quotations and paraphrasing, and make sure to provide a works cited or bibliography.
