When working with the Elodea sprigs in phenol red the solution turned yellow after you blew into it. Why? After exposure to light you saw bubbles in your tube. What were they and where did they come from? Would you see expect to see bubbles if you wrapped the Elodea preparation in aluminum foil? Why/why not?
