What stresses us out now may be very different than what stressed us out, say in adolescence, simply because we are fulfilling new roles with new responsibilities. Even though the sources have changed, would everyone say that we still experience relatively the same level of stress throughout our lifespan? In other words we will always have extremes, but are most of our days (despite our age), able to be rated about the same in terms of how stress affects us?
