What does the mitochondria do?

Mitochodria are the power house of the cells and release energy.

  1. It is source of all energy needed for life on earth. The form of energy is ATP.
  2. It is respiratory centre in aerobic situation.
  3. The combination of oxygen and hydrogen and the transfer of energy to ATP occur on the inner side mitochondrial inner wall.
  4. Glycolysis, Kreb’s cycle is related with Mitochondria. ETS is the final process of repiration in the Mitochondria.
