2. We know that the global demand for fresh water will rise as population grows and this will coincide with a decreased water supply owing to the impacts of climate change. Discuss what adaptation strategies (or water – management options) for water supply-side and demand-side we can apply in order to help us with the daunting challenges resulting from climate change. 3. The building of China’s Three Gorges dam has had very negative water quality consequences in the upstream river. How could water quality be protected as part of a dam project? Does water quality degradation have to be the inevitable consequence of development? (briefly explain). (2 marks) ?
4. What are some of the unintended consequences of flood protection from rivers? (2marks) ?
