To do the first you might look for more books on medieval Norway, Denmark, or Sweden, and not just for ‘Viking conquest’-type books. You may shift your topic to outside Scandinavia and Viking settlements and accomplishments. However, be careful of what you label ‘Viking’. Your outline suggests you view William the Conqueror as a Viking (unless I read it wrong), and that is definitely not the case. Backman’s text cannot serve as a main source, but it might give you useful dates, etc., to help as you focus your research.”
