Very simple rock piece
Paper details:
REQUIREMENTS: A 3-4 minute piece (either song or instrumental). The performance of your piece may be pre-recorded via a program such as “Garage Band” (and played through our sound system), or it can be performed live in front of of the class. In both cases, a score or lead-sheet must be included, detailing your melodies, harmonies (chord symbols are acceptable, and you may use Garage Band for this), dominant rhythmic groove (provide at least one bar of this, notated for drums and bass), and the vocals/instruments necessary. You may either not ate by hand or use a program such as Finale. You may compose your own lyrics, but you are strongly encouraged to simply use a pre-existent poem (e.g. Emily Dickinson, “Will There Really Be a Morning?”). If you want to compose a piece without lyrics, make sure to create musical interest somewhere else in the piece. If you do not have the resources to record the piece using GarageBand, please let me know as soon as possible. You may choose to compose jazz, funk, soul, punk, or any other classic rock styles but please let me know which you choose.
