a) Outline Tesco’s current corporate goals and targets. Explain how a Tesco’s Store Manager could use the Four Functions of Management to help achieve these goals
and targets. Four functions of management are: Planning, organising, leading and controlling.

b) Identify and summarise Tesco’s Organisational Structure. Organisational structure can be: divisional, functional or matrix.

Task 2
a) Discuss why the ‘Internal Analysis’ (step 3- strengths and weaknesses) is needed in the Strategic Management Process. Your answer should be based on the 6-
step Strategic Management Process which encompasses strategy planning, implementation and evaluation.

b) Identify and explain THREE ways in which companies can create more innovative organisational cultures. Your answer should be supported by references to
relevant texts, journal articles and/or websites.

c) Discuss at least FOUR benefits of effective communication within organisations. Your answer should be supported by references to relevant texts, journal
articles and/or websites.
