It is a pretty broad paper without too many specified requirements. The two attachments I will be leaving are (1) a sample paper the professor left us as an example, which is where you will see the open-endedness of the paper, and (2) a list of topics to choose from with some suggested search engines at the bottom.

Essentially the task is just to pick a research question that poses a problem in society, but have an already assumed answer/hypothesis (sections I and II). Then write whatever the sources of the research taught you in your own words, or citing their words directly with correct citations obviously (section III). Then write the theoretical applications involved (section V) and write a conclusion (section VI). Ignore section IV about methodology.

The part that is most important is section V (Application of theoretical framework) because this is where I need to incorporate macro theory and micro theory analysis, and other concepts we’ve discussed in class. These may include the following:
– Power elite theory
– functionalist theory
– conflict theory
– Tom Scheff’s theory of emotional distancing
– Erving Goffman’s impression management theory
– Karen Horney’s theory of unrealistic expectations
– George Herbert Mead’s symbolic interaction theory
– Tom Shibutani’s symbolic interaction theory
– Freud’s theory of unconscious motivation
– Marshall Rosenberg’s theory of personal needs

*i will attach some additional files that the teacher gave us to reference so that you can be better informed on some of these theories.

**note that not all of these need to be discussed, in fact maybe just a couple if only a couple can be a applied in good detail, but they are all available for use however you seem to make them associate with the topic of the paper.

The only requirements are that it is 5 full pages long double-spaced before the works cited and that i need 4 credible sources. The theoretical application is key so i would love for that part to be at least 2.5 pages.
