The next is a review of literature section and then a methodology that will discuss how the research will be conducted. ? What Factors Influence Business Power? Introduction According to Steiner G. and Steiner J. (2009), it can be inferred that business power refers to the ability to influence people and resources to attain particular goals. It is the ability to cause or avert an activity, or to make things happen. This fact is not different in business; different businesses exhibit different forms and levels of power (Culpepper, 2011; Steiner G. and Steiner J., 2009). In addition, business operates and is run by power. Power in business is important in determining the methods and approaches used in the business operations. Which in turn determine the effectiveness of the business? In the business sector, there are five major types of power; each of them is distinctive of its features and operates effectively in different business scenarios. Examples of business power include legitimate power, coercive power, expert power, referent and reward power (Johnson, 2016). For a business to obtain or exhibit power, there are different factors that have to play a part in different ways due to its complex nature (Steiner G. and Steiner J., 2009). This proposal will present the factors that influence business power. These factors revolve around different sectors; therefore, their discussion will be sectored according to different research questions. (2009), business power is the ability to influence consumer behavior, successfully or with resistance while incorporating several strategies to promote the desired action. One of the main objectives of a business is to compel consumers to buy and use their products. The enterprise has to comprise power to succeed in this sector. People may resist this form of compelling but an effective leader of a business has the ability to overcome such resistance (Hacker & Pierson, 2002). Business power can be influenced by various factors, and these factors determine the level of power that a business is bound to have or how to utilize this form of power towards the objectives of the organization. The factors that influence business power can be categorized into political factors, environmental factors, economic and social factors (Steiner G. and Steiner J., 2009). The specific factors under these categories may differ for different businesses as well as business situations. Research Questions 1. What are the political factors that influence business power? 2. What are the economic factors that influence business power? 3. What are the social factors that influence business power? 4. What are the economic factors that influence business power?Methodology This qualitative form of research will comprise a review of literature in a bid to accomplish its objectives. The primary source of information and data to be used for this research will comprise online material; this includes websites and online journal articles. The secondary sources include a review of books and published material. Approximately 25 sources of credible information will be used for this research but this number is not limited to more material could be used for this research.
