Order DescriptionA case study is an in-depth examination of some social phenomenon. You must identify a case in the field of hospitality, sport or tourism management and describe this
phenomenon in detail. The main idea is to identify a research question about some issue/case/phenomenon in our field to try to gain a deeper understanding of the case.
For example, in urban environments children and youth may have barriers to accessing recreation opportunities or parks/green space. The case study would examine this
phenomenon in a broad sense posing a research question such as, what are barriers to outdoor recreation for inner city youth? Then, you would find a specific case
where this phenomenon was studied and describe the findings and outcomes; this could be a program in Chicago, New York or San Diego perhaps.
