Attached is a one page research proposal for my research project and my instructor came back with the following notes.

“First of all, you say you “want to concentrate my research on how the application of positive changes in ecotourism has helped achieve the Millennium Development Goals, established in 2000 at the UNs Millennium Summit,” but how would you define and then “quantify” those changes? What was the thought process or preliminary research that gave you this idea? What would your methodology be? How specifically do you propose to conduct the qualitative research? What methods and what tools?

But more importantly, how do you know positive changes in ecotourism has had anything to do with helping to establish MDG goals? Have you found some support for looking in this direction?”

Below is the link to an article that gave me the idea to do this research paper for your reference also

Research Proposal
Many countries experience challenges in their efforts to develop and grow. Such constraints include poverty, hunger, environmental concerns, and discrimination along gender lines. There are many ways of solving the global challenges, which include formulation and implementation of transformation policies. I want to concentrate my research on how the application of positive changes in ecotourism has helped achieve the Millennium Development Goals, established in 2000 at the UNs Millennium Summit, with completion by 2015. The research will provide a comprehensive evaluation of the influence of the changes, criticisms of the chosen objectives and progress of goals in establishing a global partnership for development.
The research conducted will focus on a thorough qualitative analysis of various literatures available on the topic such as peer-reviewed journals, websites, case studies, and periodicals. These sources will provide an adequate analysis of the links between the changes and MDGs as well as the global development partnership. I hope the study will culminate in an appropriately proven conclusion to support the hypothesis that, the positive changes in ecotourism and sustainable tourism helps achieve the MDGs and foster global development partnerships.
The principal object of the research is to resolve most of the challenges facing humankind. Implementations of significant changes in ecotourism and sustainable tourism have the potential to lessen psychological, behavioral, tangible, and social impacts. The management of these effects increases the efficacy of the tourism process to benefit both the local communities and the tourists, create financial freedom used to reduce the level of poverty in tourist nations. Fulfillment of sustainable tourism increase access to education, lower the levels of gender inequality and preserve the biodiversity of the environment.
