A rhetorical analysis explains the rhetorical strategies (methods) that the author uses; “in writing your analysis, you will want to tell your reader something about the author’s purpose and something about the author’s methods” (Barnet and Bedau 171).

–a biography of the author—focusing on
ethical appeal
–synopsis of the text—focusing on subject and purpose
–and an analysis of the author’s research and the rhetorical choices in his /her writing.
