Topic: research and environmental analysis for Costco

Order Description
This is the group project for course Organizational Behaviour. For my parts are write a research and environmental analysis, and a summary for the project. The company we chose is Costco. I will upload what have we done so far, and the instructions by professor.
If have any questions please email me. Please read the instructions carefully.

• Final Team Project Instructions
The final team project in this class requires researching how a company in the Fraser Valley manages one of the topics we are covering in the course reading. The company you choose does not have to be based in the Fraser Valley, but it must have a significant presence here. For example, Costco or Tim Horton’s would be acceptable as company choices, since they have retail locations in Abbotsford and/or Chilliwack.
You may choose any of the major topics we are discussing in the course as the focus for your paper and presentation. Some examples would be:
1. “EQ” in the company’s workplace
2. Decision-Making
3. Employee Motivation and Engagement
4. Team Dynamics
5. Team Communication
6. Organizational Culture
7. Organizational Leadership
8. Managing Change
9. Business Ethics
Other topics are possible as well.
Once you have selected your general topic, you will need to include two of the specific models found in the reading for that topic. You will also need to link in two related topics from the course that are closely related to the focus topic you have chosen. For example, if you choose the topic of Team Dynamics, you could research two of the following team models: team development process (Forming, Storming, etc.), the “5 C’s” of team success, or team norms (codes of conduct). You could then link in Communication and Conflict Resolution as your related topics.
Many combinations of focus topic + related topics are possible; e.g.:
Corporate Culture + Engagement and Change
Employee Motivation + Leadership and Personality Styles
Deliverables for this assignment are:
1. Proposal (due October 18; counts 5 marks)
To complete the Proposal portion of this assignment, your team must submit the following via the link in the Syllabus and Assigments tab on Blackboard:
1. A statement of the company you would like to work on, and why you chose it.
2. The topic from the Syllabus that your team has chosen as the focus of its project.
3. The two other course topics that you plan to connect to your Focus Topic.
4. A preliminary plan for allocating your team’s work on the assignment, so that all team members participate equally. For example, who will do the research on the company and the industry it competes in? Who will prepare the first draft of the paper? Who will edit the paper for spelling, grammar, style, and APA compliance? Who will take the lead on preparing your presentation on the last day of class?
5. A preliminary schedule for completing the project deliverables so that you meet the due date of December .
6. A communication plan, explaining how you will organize your team’s Blackboard discussion forums so that members can easily communicate with one another, and whether or not you plan to use other communication tools (googledocs, etc.). Note: You are encouraged to make your team’s forum on Blackboard your primary means of communication. This will allow me to follow your discussions and give you advice if you encounter conflicts.
Please submit your Proposal to Blackboard as a Word document of 2 – 3 pages, using the submission link directly above.
2. Research
The assumption in this assignment is that teams will focus on secondary research (i.e., research conducted in online library databases and company websites, or in the UFV Library).
Please note that your research should include general research on the topic you are discussing (e.g., team dynamics), not just research on the subject company itself.
3. Paper (due December 13; 15 marks)
Most of the research you collect will be presented in your team’s final paper. Plan on a paper of 15 – 20 pages, including the references page. References must be properly cited in the text and collected at the end of your paper, in correct APA format.
Please submit your report via the link on Blackboard, so I can easily send feedback to all team members.
4. Presentation (due December 13; 10 marks)
All teams will present their projects in the final discussion forum on Blackboard, dedicated to project sharing. This is always a great learning experience for the other teams and will permit other class members to learn about the company you selected. Participating in the project sharing forum and reading the presentations of your fellow classmates will positively impact your Participation mark.
You may use Powerpoint to prepare slides for your final presentation; however, you are also encouraged to learn about other presentation strategies and tools, such as Prezi.
Keep in mind that what works in a paper and what works in a presentation are not necessarily the same. You may therefore elect to present your content in different order in the two documents.
Plan on a presentation of approximately 15 slides (Powerpoint or Prezi). Include your reference list as the last slide.
