Topic: Medical reflection

Order Description
The reflection will be about: I have been asked from the consultant to see a case with him for initial consultation. 53 years old lady was admitted a day before consultation with acute psychosis and sever depressed mood her speech was very loose and her thoughts was very disorganized and most of her words were in Arabic as she is from Egyptian Christian background she has a lot of religious reflections in her speech. The consultant asked me to translate for him what she is saying as he asked her several time to speak in English but she always reply in Arabic. She didn’t like anyone of her friends or family knows about being admitted in mental hospital and she asked us several time to keep it confidential. My reflection will be about wether I have to do the role as interpreter as a medical student and as being from the same background of the patient (being in mind that the patient doesn’t want anyone of her friends or relative from same background to know about her admission) should I attend the interview with the patient as patient keep asking not tell anyone of her friends or family about it however, I don’t know the patient. Please illustrate the 2 opinions (with and against).
