Paper details:
would like to request an assistance from a professional writer with the knowledge of Art History, Theory and Criticism, and reading knowledge of French or German languages (and if possible Russian) – to assist me with my research topic (proposal) for master’s thesis (see guidelines).
am having trouble getting good ideas and to have a solid grasp of the topic. I have attempted to put a proposal draft by brainstorming several ideals and need more help with the following:
[The object of the research is oeuvre of Ivan Puni, and I am interested, in particular, to study his 1914-1918s Reliefs, Collages and Pictorial Sculptures, but have an open mind for other suggestions on the art of Ivan Puni].
A. Research, define and propose the research topic for the thesis
— A lot has been written on Puni. Please see the literature on the artist, including Catalogue RaisonnĂ© (1972), monograph (2007), Master’s thesis (1982), Exhibition Catalogues (1993, 2003 and others), PhD on Puni by Magdalena Nieslony (2013, in Germany)
1. Formulate thesis statement (new contribution)
2. Write an Introduction for the thesis (2 Pages)
– Research topic: what is studied
– A brief presentation of the study background, that is, the context from which the topic arises
– The topic’s contribution to a) research and b) society.
In introduction set the goals and tasks of the research, explain the rationale for the relevance of the work, describe the theoretical and empirical bases of the study, its chronological framework, prove the novelty of research, give a brief description of all parts of the study.
3. Aim of the Study (1 page)
– The research task (or research question/ problem/ subject), in 3-5 clear questions.
– Defining and limiting the research task, and justifying the definition
– Formulating and developing questions to be discussed in the thesis research.
4. Theoretical background –
– Literature review and analysis – choose 15 sources of art literatures on the topic of the research – briefly summarize earlier research and theories related to the topic. (8 pages)
5. Choosing methodology/ methodologies (2 pages)
– The methods to use to answer the research problems, mentioning a potential preliminary study (no need to explain, at this stage, the philosophical basis of the methods)
6. Developing a very carefully thought out list of contents (chapters and sub-chapters with the transitions and articulations are finely honed in. For each chapter and sub-chapter write an abstract one-page long.
7. Choose at least 25 images (preliminary list of works by the artist, Ivan Puni) intended to include in the thesis. Write down a preliminary statement about each work (briefly in 2-3 sentences or more, if needed (please do not include other people’s ideas) – this will inform the thesis (and it absolutely should). (4-5 pages)
– I am attaching the PowerPoint and word document containing the works by Ivan Puni. But you can find more works in his Catalogue RaisonnĂ© and 2 Exhibition Catalogues (also attached).
– In description state briefly what is the value to be discussed, what is important, why talk about this work, etc.
8. Conclusion (2 pages)
9. Abstract – a written one page abstract stating the thesis topic, and what new is contributed – briefly explain the contents and main points to be discussed in the thesis (1 page)
have a favor to ask from an assigned writer:
– please try to write as simplistically as possible. English is my second language so academic writing is extremely difficulty for me; or have an ability to convey my ideas clearly.
have a lot of art literature on the Russian Avant-Garde, and if the writer would like them, I will try to upload all of them (they are in PDF format).
