In recent history there have been numerous corporate downfalls that can be directly linked to the failure of leadership. Choose one of the following companies – Enron, WorldCom, Andersen Consulting, Global Crossing, or Tyco. For the company chosen, analyze the role of leadership in the downfall of the organization. You should look at the top 2-3 leaders and their impact on the organization. What was each leader’s style? How did this impact the organization’s culture? How did the leaders respond in the face of adversity? What does this tell us about the role of leadership in organizational success or failure (in this case)? focus on descriptive elements of the organization’s rise and fall should directly relate to the central concept of leadership/management.
