Biblical evidence and explanation of key biblical texts is essential. Sources that are cited, referenced, and/or quoted must be footnoted, and the paper must be your original work. In light of the length of this paper, avoid lengthy quotations and make sure that the paper stays on topic. Must include an Introduction, thesis statement,headings to mark off the major sections of your paper, Conclusion that sums up your paper. A bibliography of sources used must be included.Below are suggested outlines to serve as a guide for the ethical research paper. All sources used for research need to be at the academic level for this level of writing. Any sources used that are not at an appropriate academic level will not count as research (no study Bibles, no commentaries on the entire Bible in one volume, no blogs, no materials posted on the internet). The student should avoid any resource written more than 50 years ago. The student is welcome to use the textbooks, but these will not count as research (for more on standards see link below).

It is highly recommended that research includes academic level biblical commentaries. Another good kind of resources are academic level journal articles from ATLA or CPI databases in library.
