The product design and costing project is assigned to foster student”s ability to think critically, creatively and prepare/ organize their ideas and communicate those ideas effectively. Students will design a new product or modify an existing product used for household purposes, identify the raw materials and labor required, suggest a manufacturing process and its costing, identify the cost drivers, their rate and finally suggest a selling price. Also suggest a brief marketing and financial plan to launch the product. A five page APA format report is expected.
