This is an individual assessment. Drawing on your experience in assessment one, conduct a literature review
that addresses current issues in research methods. You should demonstrate your understanding of research
philosophies and ethcial concerns for research. You will need to access and cite a minimum of six academic
articles. Length approximately 2000 words.

• Conduct a literature review that addresses current issues in research for your area/topic of interest. This may be discipline based such as “Research methods for Accounting” or may be a topic that you are interested in e.g. “The positive and negative effects of Facebook”.
• Demonstrate your knowledge of research philosophies and ethical concerns for research.
• Analyse and evaluate a minimum of 10 academic articles.
• When writing your paper, you need to emulate and academic article as a model style.
• Correct referencing is important and you should check a turnitin report before finally submitting the assignment online.
Select a research topic
The topic you select should:
o Maintain your interest throughout the life of the project.
o Be achievable given the available resources and/or data.
o Make a significant contribution to your field, or the wider community.
Review the literature
Reading relevant literature should occur throughout your research project.
o Background reading will help establish context for the research.
o The literature review should include a broad selection of current, credible materials published in your topic area.
Focus your research
The movement from a general concept to a specific query will:
o Identify the general area for investigation.
o Set clear objectives for the research.
o Determine the approach to the research
