Specific instructions Essay Format: You must write critical analysis essays. The textbook has an excellent Appendix (page 443-451) that tells you exactly what that is and how to write one. EVERYONE should read it (it will really help; trust me).

The textbook must be directly quoted in every essay. Finding great quotes in the textbook will help you make great arguments in your essays! Long plot summary of the films will LOWER your grade. Cite scenes or characters but don’t give lengthy summaries of the plot (after all, we’ve all just watched the film and we know what happens—find “quotes” from the film to back up your ideas)
