The late sixteenth and early seventeenth century witnessed a large migration of European colonists and settlers to the New World. England, one of the last to settle and colonize in the New World developed colonies along the eastern seaboard of present day United States.
Three specific regions, New England, Chesapeake, and the Middle Colonies, evolved from these early settlements. Those regions shortly after, began to develop their own demographics and economies.
