The “Nation” and “State” issue is common in global affairs and frankly is the source of most of the conflicts in the 20th and now 21st century. Choose one of the conflicts below and write a 5 to 7 page paper on the situation (more pages if you like to impress). Please use Microsoft Word when posting your paper to the course, 12 point, double spaced. Include a bibliography of sources cited, but it does not count in the page total. You may use any style for citations, but be consistent.

You must address EACH of the following:
A brief history and summary of the current situation.
Choose a theoretical school (like realists or any of the ones we have studied) and demonstrate how your chosen theory explains the problem.
THEN, utilize one of the theories to provide a policy solution. It can be the same theory you used in point 2 above, or it can be an entirely different theoretical school.

Find a relevant map of the specific conflict and paste it to your document and I will give you extra credit. Map does not count in the 5 to 7 page total, neither does the bibliography!!!
