The Importance of Meditation

I need an outline for a speech that I have to write later. I have attached the template for the outline. I would like for it to include at least 5 sources.

From the Professor:
References in Speech and Outline

You need to have a properly formatted APA reference list that matches your speech oral citations and any other in-text citations you may have. Though you only need three oral citations, you may have many more in-text citations and references–as many as you need for the content you’re using.

Remember that in-text citations and your reference list are a two way street. If you have an in-text citation, you need a corresponding reference at the end. If you have a reference at the end, you need at least one in-text citation for that source. You MUST have in-text citations. Without them your online TAs do not know what content comes from which source.

It is imperative that you properly cite any and all information you looked up. If you had to look something up, cite it. When it doubt, cite it. Citations are like a safety net. You can never be accused of plagiarism if you have a citation for your information. Always error on the side of citing too many things than not enough. You’re better to be safe and have a citation than risk an academic honor violation. This goes for paraphrasing and quotes; both always need in-text citations.

Your oral citations are worked into the content of your speech, not said at the end like you would type them. You may use them with quoted information or you may paraphrase the info you get from that source and still have an oral citation. It’s up to you.
