After reviewing all the assigned material to date, write a two page paper (longer if necessary) on the topic

“Proposition 47: Democracy in Action?”

By now, you have studied the proposition process. And the legislature’s function.

In order to succeed with this paper you should:

1. Define “democracy” as it’s practiced (or not!) in California’s governmental process.

2. Research the content and history of Proposition 47.

3. Watch as much as you need to (but at least an hour, although it can be at random…) of the assigned Legislative Hearing on Proposition 47.

4. See who’s for and against Proposition 47, and try to investigate the role of money.
