Each student will write a paper on a topic of their choice.The only limitation that I am placing on your chosen topic is that it has to relate to the British Empire in Asia. You can choose any region, time period, or theme you like. I am open to both traditional and unconventional ideas, I would encourage you to choose something that personally interests you. You dont need to approach this as a historian, for example, if you are a language & literature major, you could write about the importance of native vs. colonial languages, or as an engineering major, you could write about colonial railway & bridge building in Asia, you get the idea.
