The Best neighborhood to live
(An Applied Study in the West side neighborhoods in Chicago city)
CMAP GO to 2040 is a comprehensive plan of the development of Chicago areas. One of the four chapters in this project is called Livability Community. Livability’s
description, aims and goals, strategies and results are flexible and locally resulting through community stakeholders and citizen input, providing the ability to any
community to raise, grow and changes based on local characteristics, needs and wants. In order the user (CMAP) would be able to input a point or line and a tool would
analyze the livability of the area around, it needs to have a tool to quantify the livability of neighborhoods by using 14 indicators to evaluate an area in Chicago
districts with adjust the distance. As a final output, one of the project’s goals is to create a web page (Online map) for users to give their opinion toward the range
of livable housing.
Everyone in any community has its own living requirements, but choosing the right neighborhood to live depends on their conditions. The problem now is how to choose
the best neighborhood and what depends on? People usually depend on others opinion in who they live in these neighborhoods, or through social networking pages and in
some cases they can go to these neighborhoods by themselves and take a deep look, and might this look do not give the spatial details or a any of their available
services. So, it is necessary to find a solution to use the maps professionally and use the query tools, but in contrast is to be easy and available online for
everyone.
Design a web map by an ARCGIS Online API software makes the users can choose the appropriate district according to the results from the spatial and descriptive query
such as select a right neighborhood by calculate its distance from the Gas station or from the schools for example.
In the first, it will be design a web map on geodatabase for the west side neighborhoods of Chicago city according to their spatial characteristics and services in
each districts.
