Team Collaboration to Create a Technology Goal

Discussion 2: Team Collaboration to Create a Technology Goal
Now that you have considered the importance of culture and leadership in strategic planning, you are ready to draft a simple strategic planning goal: an early step in
the process. Since a strategic plan typically addresses an institutions next three to five years, its strategic goals are quite broad and far-reaching. Later in the
process, you would create an implementation plan for each strategic planning goal. As you plan the implementation, you would identify the smaller tasks that need to be
accomplished each year to fulfill the broad, long-range goal.
Note: Different sources define the term goal differently. Hinton (2012) defines an objective as being broader than a goal. She defines an objective as a general desire
or theme, and defines a goal as a smaller target that you can check off when completed. For the purposes of this course, a strategic planning goal is a broad, long-
range outcome that an institution wants to accomplish in a period of 3 to 5 years, not a smaller, simple task that can be accomplished quickly.High-level goals are created in a variety of categories as part of a strategic plan. In this Discussion, you will work in an assigned small group. As you participate
in the group, imagine you are part of a team that will write the technology goal for the Grand City Universitys strategic plan.To prepare for this Discussion, read the Grand City University Profile in the Learning Resources. Explore scholarly resources, such as those found in the Walden
Library, to learn about current issues and challenges related to technology in higher education. Based on what you learn from these sources, draft a technology goal
for Grand City University. This should be a high-level goal to be accomplished over the next 3 to 5 years. With these thoughts in mind:Assignment:In your designated group area, post a draft of a technology goal for Grand City Universitys strategic plan, and provide data to support the goal.
