Learning Aim:
1. Introduction of Systems of the Human Body
2. Identify the parts & organs that made up the Digestive System.
3. Understand the functions of each part & organ of the digestive system.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:

1. Identify the parts & organs that made up the digestive system.
2. Understand the path & functions of the digestive system.
3. Understand the one of the functions of the digestive system is to change food into a form that can be used by the body.
4. To relate to questions on the functions in the system.
5. Understand the keywords/definitions.
Content and Teacher Activity:

5mins: Talk about the Pix chart on the white board and path of Digestive System.
Talk about how food change into a form that can be used by the body.
( it’s a warm up or lead in for the students)

10 mins : Teacher gives pupils an overview of what the Science lesson ,“Digestive System “ is about and show picture of the Digestive System of the Human Body & what the lesson objectives are.

Teacher explains to pupils the importance of the parts & organs that made up the digestive system. The keywords to help pupils to understand better.

Elicit with students the keywords (parts & organs) that made up the Digestive System. List it on the whiteboard.

3mins: Students given the KWL Chart, &
Students to list under K –“What I Know”
Under W – “What I want to find out”.

Learner activity:

15mins: Paired students to draw and label the parts & organs of the digestive system. Also to list the functions on the pictures drawn.

They will work together to assemble the parts to form the path of the digestive system. Students get to practise working in an inclusive environment.

Teacher moves around the groups to assess and assist when necessary.

Formative assessment:

10mins : Students to talk about the parts and functions from their
drawings.In-class -Questions and short answers on Digestive System.

Students to refer KWL Chart and list under L – What I learned.

2mins : Buffer /Gap time.

I used visual learning style for the Digestive System Lesson because there are 4 boys and one of them is having a developmental condition , slow in speech.

Kids at 10 have the language skills and cognitive ability to gather information and formulate opinions and thoughts that are well-organized and thought-out, especially in girls.
Girls can work with other male students to complete the in-class assignments

Male students make careless mistakes because they tend to be easily distracted .

The male student , delayed in speech learn better with visual form style.

I have 4 male students and 6 female students
Age ranges bet 10 years – 10years 6months.
10 Students in a tutorial room.

Their intellectual development:

I used visual learning style for the Digestive System Lesson because there are 4 boys and one of them is having a developmental condition , slow in speech.
The female students like reading, writing, and using books .
Girls can work with the male students to complete the in-class assignments.
Kids at 10 have the language skills and cognitive ability to gather information and formulate opinions and thoughts that are well-organized and thought-out, especially in girls.
3 male students doesn’t organize their time well . Male students make careless mistakes because they tend to be easily distracted .

One of the male student , slow in expressive skill so with visual learning helps him to grasp the learning easily and listing it in short phrases instead of paragraphs.
In my opinion, the lesson helped students to learn with active learning styles and in an inclusive environment.

This writing in Essay format – 600words

This writing on “Evidence on learning” must be relevant to heading still and should include :

• Explain how you (as the teacher) structured the lesson so it was coherent.
• Explain how the teaching methods, learning activities and resources that used helped to develop the learners’ learning.
• Describe how the teacher assessed the learners’ learning.

Tips from the teacher teaching this Digestive System with the Lesson Plan:

Learning activities used can enhance the science lesson.
Getting students to draw and label are fun ways to familiarize students with the keywords, vocabulary, while learning the facts.
Reinforce and strengthen students’ understanding of concepts , educational and enjoyable.

After the lesson, the KWL chart helped students to recap & assess themselves .

As for the male students , they get to work in group setting that enabled them to learn
Science and time management.

For the male student who has speech delay, able to learn through visual form of learning instead of the tradition way.
This enables him to grasp the lesson easily and able to express it in simple sentence.

2. The drawing ,labeling the parts & organs & listing the functions are fun ways to familiarize students.
3. Placing students in group /paired setting enable them to learn in an inclusive environment .
4. The boy with speech delay is assimilating comfortably with the classmates.
5. The KWL chart enable students to assess themselves not just me(the teacher) alone assessing.
