- Support your argument with at least 3 different reasons that you develop fully
• Analyze cause and effect logically
• Include an introduction and conclusion
• Include at least 4 academically acceptable outside sources
• At least two from your research
• At least two others (these may be from class readings or other sources)
• Proofread scrupulously!
• Definition: clearly define corporal punishment vs. abuse and all your terms
• Cause and Effect: Can you show a clear causal chain between punishment or lack of punishment and future behavior?
• Ethics: What are the ethical issues to consider?
• Refutation: Are you representing the counterargument fairly? Are you refuting it logically?
• Are the statistics and samples in the studies you cite legitimate? (As discussed in Writing Logically, Thinking Critically)
• Are your arguments logical? Have you avoided logical fallacies?
