3. why is the dress code important? What are the positivieoutomces of dress code in ZU?
4. where is this message missing in the IC to this audience?
5. what are the negative implications of this missing?
6. how do you suggest the university change its IC to effectively communicate this core value to this audience?

Remark:The questions are to stimulate and guide your thinking. You do not need to address each specific question. Remember, in a SWOT analysis strengths and weaknesses are about the specific channels used and opportunities and threats are about the organizational (organizational culture and organizational behavior) issues that impact the strengths and weaknesses. For example, a Director may write a perfect email (note strength) but if there is a lack of trust in the organization (OB issues/causes) that is a threat (note why) to the acceptance/legitimacy of message.
• Internal Communication Audit/SWOT Analysis
The goal of the project is to gain actual experience with a difficult and complex but useful and necessary IC task that helps organizations to identify what is working, what’s not, and what could be improved (Coffman, 2004): the communication audit/SWOT analysis.
During this project, you will identify the channels used to communicate with the target audience, analyze their effectiveness (e.g., goal, content message, relational message, implementation, frequency), and propose suggestions for improvement.
At a minimum, you will address
• Who is the target audience? Analyze the audience cognitively, behaviorally, and affectively (e.g., beliefs, values, experience, knowledge, desires, motivations, outside influences)
• What is the primary message Zayed University wishes to communicate to this audience? Is the message being decoded as intended? Is the intended message different from the decoded message? Why/not? Which external factors may be impacting (positively or negatively) this process? Is there alignment between the message(s) sent and the message(s) the audience wishes to receive?
• Which communication strategies, tactics, channels is the University employing? Are they effective? Why/not? Discuss each in detail (e.g., implementation, level of practice). Is there alignment between the mission, vision, and values of the University and its’ communication? Why/not?
• How would you improve the University’s communication with this target population?
