1) Software Evaluation: Your school district is considering purchasing instructional software services for all teachers and students. You’ve been asked to evaluate two sites and provide your professional opinion about which service your school district should spend $500,000.00 on. Use the Instructional Software Evaluation form to rate the following instructional software sites (review the CH 8 reading). At the end of each evaluation form, you’ll be asked to add up the ratings you’ve assigned to each site, assign a grade to the site and provide a rationale for the grade you assigned.Recommend which service the district should spend the funds on.
1. Use the following form evaluate BrainPop and answer the questions at the end of the form. When you complete the evaluation, add up the points and assign the grade (be sure provide written feedback on the form). File: BrainPop_Instructional Software Evaluation.docx
2. Use the following form to evaluate Discovery Education and answer the questions at the end of the form. When you complete the form, add up the points and assign the grade (be sure provide written feedback on the form). File: DiscoveryEducation_Evaluation-1.docx
2) Podcast. Now that you have evaluated the two instructional software packages, think about which one you would recommend to the district. You’ll be creating a 1-minute podcast to explain your rationale for picking one software over the other. Review the tutorials, websites, and videos in Part #1: Readings & Resources of this module on how to create your very own podcast.

Name the podcast file, “Software_Rationale”, export it as a .WAV or .mp3 file. Note: Do not submit the project file (.aup) – exported file only (.wav or .mp3). Be sure to include the following in your podcast:
• Which instructional software package do you recommend?
• At least 3 reasons why you recommend that package over the other one
• At least 1 example of how a teacher could use this software in their classroom or lesson plan.
3) Upload the two (2) Word files and .wav or .mp3 file to this (Module 4) dropbox.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
