Pathways 2016 State of Inequality report
State of Inequality reportExamples of policies that you might choose from include such proposals as (a) raising the minimum wage to $15/hour; (2) increasing taxes on assets for the wealthiest Americans; (3) increasing income tax on those that earn more than $1 million/year; (4) investing in social programs and/or public education; (5) expanding a jobs incentive and training programs (6) expanding the safety net; and/or (7) any other ideas that you might come across. In your analysis of the goals of each program, you should explain the aspect of the social problem that each policy is designed to address (i.e.- Labor, Safety net, Poverty, etc.) and explain why that particular social problem matters through a combination of statistics (available in the State of Inequality report) and stories/narrative that you may find in your research.
