Social Entrepreneurship

Social Entrepreneurship
Order Description
i am currently doing a summer school in Social Entrepreneurship in which we learn about social enterprise (for profit and non-for profit enterprise) who seek certain social missions. this is my first time doing such a unit and i was asked to write a refection of my learning process. during the semester, we were asked to write a business plan for a social enterprise named Shopfront (youth art cooperative) in which it would help them find a sustainable funding source given that currently they rely on governmental cuts and philanthropic support. also we studied other topics within social entrepreneurship such as social marketing and social impact measurement as well as social failure. so i need to reflect on that by talking about my knowledge prior to the class and the knowledge i gained after doing that class in addition to future consideration in regards to this unit. the language should be a personal language and it should also include some linkage to theory in social entrepreneurship.

so in bullet points: it should include:
– my knowledge prior to the class and after
– my experience working on Shopfront project and visiting the enterprise.
– my reflection about the topics mentioned above.
future considerations.

in terms of my experience working on Shopfront project, i’d say it was very challenging task yet very useful and helpful.

i am required to think reflectively, critically and analytically about your learning experiences this semester and how they relate to my past knowledge and experiences, and my future practices. i am also required to leverage the aspect of theory you explored in my individual report ( which was on social marketing) and an aspect of theory covered in the lectures
Things that you may choose to reflect upon include:
? use of new ideas
? inspirations
? awareness of social and cultural contexts
? memorable experiences in your group assessment (with enterprises, communities, mentors, group
members etc.)
? images and visualisations
? interesting quotes
? abstracts of lectures, workshops, readings
