Order Description
1. The team will judge essay entries on the effectiveness of the review (25%), popularity (25%), creativity/originality (25%); and humorous content (25%).
Topic: Any Defensive Driving Topic
Create an essay regarding the topic. The essay may be written in First or Third Person.
The essay must be submitted as a final document without any spelling or grammatical errors such as: run on sentences, comma errors, sentence fragments, etc.
Feel free to be creative in your essay (you may use humor to convey your message, if you wish).
Essay must be 1500 words.
The content must be original and may have NOT been submitted to any other contest.
YOU MUST USE CREDIBLE SOURCES.
You must credit any sources that you use for the essay and must have a Reference List or a Works Cited Page listing your sources.
2. Essay Topic: Explain in 700 words why you have chosen to volunteer your time with the organization(s) that you have and how your experience has changed your life.
Background: Previously volunteered at a medical center in the Human Resources Department and worked with the HR Coordinator and other hospital departments.
3.A short statement describing why you are the best candidate for the scholarship. We takes great pride in the Philippine culture and heritage. As you live in the USA, how important it is for you to know about your family’s culture and heritage, and how can you continue to promote it in your everyday life. Essay must be a minimum of 800 words.
4. Background Reference:
Vietnamese Descent. Historian of Community College’s Science Club. Previously attended Community College in the Health & Medical Services (Placed on Dean’s List twice at Community College ) and transferred to a University in Fall 2015. Currently an undergraduate Sophomore for the Fall semester, but will be a Junior by status next Spring. Major: Human Nutrition, specifically Human Nutritional Sciences for the pre-medical track. May pursue a minor in Business. Volunteered at local Public Library for three years: utilized Vietnamese skills to answer patron queries, designed seasonal program preparation for library events, checked bookshelves to verify orderly placement and reshelved returned items. Volunteered at a local hospital for a year mostly in the Human Resources department. Collaborated with HR Coordinator and various hospital departments with clerical duties. Also provided clerical-front desk assistance as required. Aspiration: To become a medical physician/pediatrician and serve underprivileged community in the future.

5. Students must submit an essay of 600 words minimum in answer to the following question: When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?
