Coursework: Safety Leadership
Safety Leadership can be demonstrated from the board room down to the first line supervisor. Describe what this means in terms of:1. A director or project manager
2. A site manager or supervisorYour answer should consider the specific function and duties of each type of manager (e.g. one is strategic and one is operational). You should also give examples of characteristics and actions that would be expected of each manager in terms of Safety Leadership. There will be similarities and differences that should be discussed and explained.Guidance
Your report may be structured in four sections: introduction explaining the concept of Safety Leadership, a section reviewing guidance and research on Safety Leadership, a section comparing the similarities and differences between the two levels of management in relation to Safety Leadership, and a final conclusions section stating which characteristics or actions are best suited to each level of management (using text from your previous sections as evidence). Submissions should quote up-to-date references (Harvard style), be of good quality and show evidence of further research. Total content should be around 2000 words.
