2. Compare and contrast the traditional model of supervision and the new models represented by Trotter, Bonta, and others. Use the readings to support your answer.
3. You are at a family gathering and Aunt Millie, who is 80 years old, says “criminals, especially high risk ones, can’t be rehabilitated.” How would you respond to that comment? Use the readings to support your answer.
4. You are on a plane on your way to vacation and the passenger next to you asks what you do. You tell the person about this course and the person asks “does probation supervision work?” What is your response? Use the readings to support your answer.
5. Sex offenders can’t be treated. Is this true or false? What the basis for your answer? Use the readings to support your answer.

9. Do you believe it is fair to determine sentences based on risk? Using the readings assigned in class and discussions with other students in class, explain your belief on this topic. Consider both philosophical reasons as well as evidence from empirical studies.
