My research proposal is:From the American sitcom Roseanne (1988-1997) to the American comedy-drama Shameless (2011-present), we see how the different ages of pop culture relay the life of the modern day working family to the public and how different our world has changed in just a couple years. Shows like Shameless play into the problems surrounding our youth, young adults and inner city families, such as casual sex, drugs, lots of alcohol, and financial issues, with humor and appeal as if it were the “norm”
