In a tough job market organizations are taking interns who need experience and will work for free. The article points out that a number of formal organizations are using free labor in for profit systems. For students this is a way to enter the organization and gain access to a job market. They are earning merit they can later use for entry into organizations. Many of the internships are for college credit linking two formal organizations.

India has the worst bureaucracy in the world according to a study done by a Hong Kong based group. India scored a 9.41out of 10 for bureaucracy. Reforms have been ignored because it is a power center of its own. Bureaucrats are seen as insensitive in India. This is an example of the negative side of formal organizations.
