1. You need to find an ARTICLE to write your paper about. This must be a news or journal article about a specific case of JUVENILE deliquency, not crime in general. If there is not enough material in your article to analyze, you will need to find several articles with the same type of juvenile delinquency.
2. You need to write this paper in the proper format- in paragraphs, citing material paraphrased or quoted from other sources. When citing the textbook, just put textbook and the page number (textbook 11). 4-5 pages = 1600-2000 words. Do not write less than 1600 words or I will subtract points.
3. You need to pick ONE primary theory and apply that theory to the example from your article. You may discuss the other theories in order to show the strengths and weaknesses of the theory you have chosen, but do not write about all of the theories. The theory should be appropriate for the case and examples from your article. Remember, this is an exercise for you to show me that you can recognize which theory is most appropriate for different kinds of juvenile delinquency.
ALL students enrolled in this section will be required to write a term paper in which you may pick a delinquent act and explain it in terms of any three theories learned in the course. You must find an example of that delinquent act in a newspaper or academic journal and cite that example as you explain it with your chosen theory. The papers should be FOUR-FIVE double spaced, typed pages. Further instructions are available on blackboard. Use Times New Roman Font-size 12.
