A thesis is NOT a question or announcement about what topic you are examining.

Body (Supporting Primary and Secondary evidence that supports your thesis-discuss counter arguments)

Conclusion (More than just a summary-What is the significance of your paper.)

1. Pick a manageable topic-Let me know ahead of time what your topic is
2. Ask argumentative related questions- For example, Was the dropping ofthe Atomic bombs on Japan necessary? Was the Women’s Movementsuccessful in achieving its goals? or Why did the United States losemilitarily in Vietnam?
3. Research your topic- Take notes
4. Outline your topic-
5.Rough draft-The key is organization by Topics-Develop concise topic sentences and support each paragraph with convincing evidence –cite your sources using MLA style
6. Final Draft-Have someone read it
–Do you have a thesis?
–Is your evidence convincing?
–Is your paper logical and argumentative?
–Did you proofread? Do you use smooth transitions between topics?
–Is your paper a minimum of 7 full pages, typed and 12 font?
