Order DescriptionScenario:
Suppose you are a barrister who has been contacted by the Victorian Attorney-General and asked whether you would be willing to accept a judicial appointment to the Supreme Court of Victoria. You currently earn a substantial income as a respected silk at the Melbourne Bar, and you are concerned about how a judicial appointment might affect your future livelihood. You decide to do some research on the remuneration of judges.

Answer the following Questions ( 9 Questions) by doing legal research in law (Finding the legislation) . Please answer all Questions and put at least one reference to each question from where you answer the question.

Use Primary and secondary sources:
Textbooks, journal articles, Encyclopedia …ect…
Preferred databases in law such as (LawOne), (LexisNexis), ( AustLII)

The Questions:
1. Identify the Victorian statute that specifies the salary to be paid to judges of the Supreme Court?

2. On what day did the provisions with respect to salary in the statute referred to in Q1 commence operation?

3. On what date was the Bill for the Act referred to in Q1 read for the second time in the Legislative Council of the Victorian Parliament? Name the Minister who read the Second Reading Speech on that occasion.

4. To which other judges’ salary is the salary of a Victorian Supreme Court judge pegged? Identify the statute that determines the salary of these other judges?

5. What is the name of the body that determines the salary of the judges identified in Q4, and what is the Act that establishes that body?

6. Name the current instrument that determines the salary of the judges identified in Q4, and the quantum of that annual salary.

7. What percentage loading is given to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria above the salary of a judge of that Court?

8. What Act specifies the pension to which a Victorian Supreme Court judge is entitled (typically) upon attaining 65 years of age and completing 10 years of service? Give the name and section number

9. Name the first piece of subsidiary (delegated) legislation made by the Victorian government in 2016.
Formatting. All answers should be typed, using 1.5 line spacing, with page margins of no less than 3cm on all sides, in 12-point font. Footnotes (if any) should be in 10-point font.
8. Referencing. All materials (including statutes) should preferably conform to the Australian Guide to Legal Citation (3rd ed, 2010).
