A short “research” project is required for completion of this course. To fulfill this requirement you must submit a 2-3 page personal analyses of the aspect of color in a painting in one of the museum collection in Washington, D.C.

YOU MUST VIEW THE ORIGINAL PAINTNG IN PERSON – REPRODUCTIONS SHOULD BE USED ONLY AS SUPPLEMETNAL ILLUSTRATIONS FOR YOR ESSAY .

Your paper should focus on your own interpretation of the varieties of color CONTRASTS and HARMONIES that exist in the painting, the PSYCHOLOGICAL interpretation of the colors used, and the use of color as a COMPOSITIONAL ELEMENT.
