Task: In all disciplines there is disagreement about how science applies to real life problems and policy. This assignment asks you to analyse different expert perspectives on a real world issue, synthesise the arguments and discuss how similar disputes arise in your discipline area.
1. Analyse each article separately, including an argument map for each article (diagram plus one paragraph each).
2. Outline objections to the arguments in each article and identify any objections or false arguments.(max 200 words each).
3. Synthesise the arguments in the three articles and draw conclusions about which position you found most convincing, providing your reasons.(max 400 words)
4. Outline a topic in your discipline where experts disagree, explain the different positions clearly, synthesise the arguments to argue for your position. (Max 500 words)
