Go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Choose an object that fits into the time period of the 50 required objects. It can be from any culture. It must be an object that is NOT on our list, though it can have a similar function. For example, you can choose a triptych from the Middle Ages, just not the one included on your objects list.
Include a picture of the object with you in it. Have fun with the selfie and your object. You can look like you are holding it, wearing it, mimicking the pose, whatever you like.
Please list the name of the object, date, material, and any other pertinent information. Tell me why you chose this object. You might be interested in choosing an object that comes from your own cultural background or you might choose an object from an area that interests you but you know nothing about.
Choose an object from the same time period that is on our objects list. Why do you think the object you chose is not on the list as opposed to the one that is on your list? Do you agree with the choice on your list? Why or why not?
The next part is your research on the object you chose. This is your usual research paper format. Make sure you include citations and a bibliography. The entire paper should be three to five pages.
