Jumped In: What Gangs Taught Me about Violence, Drugs, Love, and Redemption.
Sociologist, anthropologist and gang expert Jorja Leap gives a first- hand account of the genealogy of the gangs in and around Los Angeles, California. Included are the Bloods, Crips, Florencia, MS-13, and 18th Street, among others. In this paper I would like you to compare and contrast the social, biological, psychological, developmental, and substance abuse antecedents to joining a gang and staying in a gang for males and females. You will use scientific theories of violence to address male and female differences such as power differentials, social learning differences, sexual assault, and social stratification differences as explanations for gang membership.

Papers must include at least 4 scholarly sources. Papers will be checked for plagiarism.
